Hospital Wait Times for Appointments

Please see My Planned Care, this website will allow patients to access waiting times for all hospitals across the county within each department.

Private Referrals

Please contact your insurance company in the first instance, and they will advise you the best consultant and hospital where you can be seen for your particular speciality.

Walk in X-Rays

Open access between 9:30am to 4:00pm every weekday.

Patients can turn up at The Horton Hospital with a completed x-ray request (normally sent electronically). Patients will then be x-rayed in order of arrival.

Patients not wishing to wait can call Radiology on 01295 229185 to make an appointment.

NHS e-Referral Service

The NHS e-Referral Service (e-RS) combines electronic booking with a choice of place, date and time for first hospital or clinic appointments. Patients can choose their initial hospital or clinic appointment, book it in the GP surgery at the point of referral, or later at home on the phone or online.

Using the service

If you're a patient, find out more about appointment booking on the NHS website.

Whether you're using e-RS for the first time, or an existing user wanting to make the most of the service, NHS Digital provides a range of material for referrers (such as a general practice), providers (a hospital or clinic) and commissioners.
