Knit and Natter (Brackley Library)

Meet every Monday at 2pm ‘til 4pm. Free to attend. Small cost for hot drinks.

 

Brackley ‘Chatty Café’

Takes place on the 3rd Thursday of each month at Greens Norton Community Centre, Towcester Road NN12 8BL. A chance for carers to meet and have discussions but they can also bring along the cared for person. Contact is Jenny Osborne on 01933 677907 option 1.

 

Coffee and Cards (Brackley)

Every Friday 3pm – 4pm at The Lounge Bar Café, Brackley. £7 per person inc. refreshments, tuition and supplies for two cards to make and take home.

 

Brackley Stitching Kitchen

located at Top Station Road, Brackley. They have lots of different events and workshops. Occasionally workshops are free but usually there are varying fees to pay. There is a Social Stitch workshop, which is arguably the most suitable event for this Directory. £21 covers a 3 dates over 3 weeks workshop on Friday mornings. Described as chatty, supportive, friendly, inclusive. Bring along your current stitch project and join for a chat, cuppa and cake.

The Saints Community Project

takes place between around 10:00 - 13:30 every Wednesday at Brackley Town Football Club. This is basically a drop-in facility. £2 to include coffee, cakes and entertainment. This group predominantly attracts older people who are socially isolated. The organiser there is Kim Grantham, who is contactable on 07966 254215. This project does attract a group of men, which is good to know for our male patients/clients.

 

Men Into Extra Time

Run by Pete Rawlinson. His contact details are 07821 398490. This primarily involves activities for older men to take part in and is based at Brackley Town Football Club. Please contact Pete for more details.

 

Charity Crafts

Is a community group which meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at the Volunteer Centre, Whittons Lane, Towcester.

U3A (University of the Third Age)

Run groups for socialising, education and stimulation for mostly retired members of the community. There are local groups in Towcester, Brackley, Daventry, Northampton and Upper Nene Villages (centred on Bugbrooke). Each local U3A group has its own website and events page. As an example, the Brackley group has over 20 groups that meet regularly, plus additional one-off events. There is a small annual membership cost.

 

Tove Valley Baptist Fellowship

Tove Valley Baptist Fellowship hold tea/coffee mornings at the Tove Valley Centre, NN12 7AH.

These run every Monday morning between 10am -12pm. Call for more information 01327 204801. They are now also held every Friday afternoon (starting 4th November) between 1pm and 3pm.
They say to contact them if you need help with transport as they use the Ability bus, which is good to know.

Wootton Seniors Club (60+)

Take place every 2nd Wednesday at Wootton Community Centre. (Unsure when compiling this which Wednesday).  Lots of different activities taking place, including chair yoga, beetle drives, pool, Zumba, coach trips, quizzes and so on. Contact Jean Perry on 01604 762323.

 

Blisworth Friendship Group

Dance Classes for Over 55s

Is run by Age UK (Northamptonshire). The only class within our area is at Milton Malsor Village Hall each Wednesday 10:30 – 11:30am. First session is FREE. £6 thereafter. Tea and coffee included. For more details contact Age UK (Northamptonshire) on 01604 611200.

Bugbrooke Activity and Social Days (AUKN)

Are currently taking place every Thursday between 10am and noon at Jubilee House. £5 per session, which normally last a couple of hours. Call for more information: 01604 611200

Grange Park Friendship Club (over 60’s)

Grange Park Friendship Club (over 60’s) runs every Monday afternoon between 2pm and 4pm, at The Kairos Centre, Grange Park. All welcome. Pop in for tea/coffee, cake and a chat. Contact the church office on 01604 709519 for more details or just pop in on the day.

 

Evergreens (Roade)

Evergreens (Roade) is a drop-in ‘afternoon tea’ event which takes place at Cripps House between 2pm and 4pm every Monday.

 

Middleton Cheney Art Group

Meets at Chacombe Village Hall every Tuesday from 09:30 to 13:30.

 

King’s Sutton Coffee Mornings

King’s Sutton Coffee Mornings take place every Friday between 10:30 and 12:30 at Millenium Memorial Hall, Astrop Road, King’s Sutton OX17 3PG.

Both have an Events and What’s-On Calendar on their websites. Brackley Events Watcher is a Facebook page, providing weekly updates on current events/activities.
